Volunteer Month 2026

This May, Council is celebrating volunteers through a Volunteer Month “Spotlight and Support” campaign, aligned with National Volunteer Week (18–24 May). The campaign will highlight local groups, recognise the contribution of volunteers, and promote opportunities for more people to get involved.

  • What is aim of Volunteer Month?

To support local volunteer organisations by:

    • Publicly acknowledging the contribution of volunteers
    • Raising awareness of what volunteers groups do
    • Promoting specific volunteer roles currently needed
    • Encouraging new community members to get involved
  • How will it work?

Council has collated information from registered groups to create a promotional campaign highlighting local organisations, their volunteers, and available opportunities across our communication channels.
