Renmark Mini Movers is a welcoming community playgroup for mums, dads, grandparents and caregivers, creating a space for both children and adults to connect and socialise.
Sessions are held every Tuesday and Thursday during school terms from 9:30–10:30am at the JD Wilkinson Pavilion, Renmark Oval Sporting Complex. Volunteers play a key role in ensuring the playgroup runs smoothly each week.
What roles are avaliable?
Renmark Mini Movers is seeking reliable volunteers—particularly for Thursdays—to help open, run, and close playgroup sessions. The role is simple, flexible, and well-suited to caregivers attending with young children.
Volunteer roles include:
- Opening the playgroup (arriving 5–10 minutes early to set up)
- Setting up simple craft and sensory play activities
- Greeting members and welcoming new families
- Helping create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment
- Supporting general supervision to ensure children are engaged and safe
- Packing away and tidying the space after the session (5–10 minutes)
Time commitment
- 1-hour sessions (9:30–10:30am) on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays during school terms
- Plus 5–10 minutes before and after for setup and pack down
- Regular commitment encouraged (even fortnightly) to help keep sessions running consistently
How to get involved?
This is a rewarding opportunity where volunteers can connect with other families while their children play, and contribute to a valuable local community group.
New volunteers will be guided through the opening and closing process by an existing team member. Assistance with obtaining a Working with Children Check can also be provided if needed.
Prospective volunteers are encouraged to attend a session to see if it’s the right fit.
