The Riverland Evening Branch of the South Australian Country Women’s Association (SACWA) is a volunteer-led group bringing together people from across the Riverland for friendship, social connection, community support and fun. Based across Barmera, Berri, Renmark and surrounding towns, the branch meets monthly to plan events, fundraising activities, guest speakers and community involvement opportunities.

The group supports local communities through fundraising, social activities and volunteering initiatives while also contributing to wider SACWA programs and emergency support funds across South Australia.

What roles are available?

The branch welcomes new members of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels, with volunteers able to participate as much or as little as they choose.

Volunteer activities may include:

  • Assisting with fundraising events (3-4 a year) and community activities
  • Baking, cooking and catering, Knitting beanies and craft projects
  • Helping at field day cafés, bingo nights and Christmas events
  • Facilitating craft classes or sharing hobbies and skills
  • Supporting event planning and branch ideas
  • Writing letters for donations or assisting with grant applications
  • Taking on committee or executive roles if interested

The group values fresh ideas, creativity and community spirit, with opportunities for both social involvement and leadership.

How to get involved?

New members are encouraged to attend a meeting or social outing to learn more about the branch and meet current members. A welcome pack with information about the organisation is provided.

Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month, 6pm at the Berri Resort Hotel.
