The Lions Club of Renmark has been serving the local community since 1964, delivering a wide range of projects that support environmental conservation, health initiatives and community wellbeing.

From local projects like public spaces and environmental work, to national and international fundraising efforts, Lions volunteers play an important role in helping people in need. Through hands-on support, fundraising and community engagement, the Club continues to make a meaningful and lasting impact.

What roles are available?

There are many ways to get involved, with opportunities to suit a range of interests, skills and availability. Volunteers contribute across community projects, fundraising and club operations, including:

  • Assisting with fundraising activities such as barbecues, donut van catering, raffles and community events
  • Supporting monthly bazaars, including sorting, selling and recycling donated goods
  • Helping with food preparation and catering for events and visiting groups
  • Providing physical support for projects such as maintenance of public spaces, environmental work and community assistance
  • Using trade, mechanical or practical skills for repairs, setup and project work
  • Supporting administration, organisation, communication and general club operations

Volunteers can contribute as much or as little time as suits them—whether weekly, monthly or as available.

The Club holds two meetings per month (a social dinner meeting and a works meeting), each lasting around 2–3 hours, to plan and coordinate activities.

How to get involved?

New volunteers are supported by experienced members, with opportunities for training in areas such as food handling, administration and leadership.

Those interested can speak with Lions members at local events or bazaars, connect via the Renmark Lions Club Facebook page, or reach out to the membership team to learn more.

Joining Lions offers not only the chance to give back, but also to build friendships, develop skills and be part of a globally recognised organisation making a difference.
