The Riverland Rose and Garden Festival is a vibrant 10-day celebration of gardening, recognised as the fourth largest garden festival in Australia. Showcasing the Riverland at its most beautiful, the festival features open gardens, flower shows, markets, workshops, gala events and more - offering something for everyone.
Volunteers are essential in bringing this large-scale event to life and ensuring a memorable experience for visitors.
What roles are available?
Volunteers (friends of the festival) support a wide range of activities, including:
- assisting with public surveys
- flower arranging (the role may involve lifting and arranging props, cutting and preparing flowers)
- distributing promotional flyers
- assist with coordinating the 'Streets in Bloom Trail' and Open Garden promotions
- helping set up displays and market stalls
- assisting with general administration tasks such as grant writing or coordination support.
Volunteers are asked to attend one or two pre-event meetings, with time commitments during the 10-day festival varying depending on availability and role.
How to get involved?
Volunteers will be supported by and work alongside Festival Committee members, who provide guidance and coordination throughout. Those interested in getting involved can express their interest by reaching out to the festival organisers to learn more about available roles and how they can contribute.
