Renmark Paringa Council and Wel.Co have officially entered into a Land Facilitation Agreement (LFA) as part of the Jane Eliza development project.

The signing positions Wel.Co – a nationally recognised and vastly experienced development company – as the official development partner for the Jane Eliza site.

Council previously identified Wel.Co as its preferred developer after a competitive expression of interest process in 2021 when a clear passion, vision and proven track record was illustrated.

The LFA signing triggers a number of steps to be undertaken by Wel.Co to work towards the planned 800-allotment development, and nationally significant off-river marina.

Wel.Co Founder and Managing Director Andrew Welsh said it was an exciting milestone to complete the signing of the LFA with Renmark Paringa Council and continue towards the development of the Jane Eliza site.

“We have a particular passion for working in regional communities and love the community spirit these areas have.

“We look forward to getting to know the local community and help make Renmark an even more desirable place to live, work and visit.”

Renmark Paringa Mayor Peter Hunter said the nature of the process so far had presented challenges for communicating with the community.

“Council has been in commercial negotiations with Wel.Co since July 2022 making it difficult to provide updates to the community during this period," he said.

“Council is delighted to move forward in this process with Wel.Co and move one step closer towards the exciting Jane Eliza development.

“We can see the confidence and passion from the Wel.Co team for investing in Renmark and unlocking an enormous amount of potential for the local community.

“We understand the concerns around the development and ensure the community that every step necessary to ensure the safety of the project will be taken.

“The initial Tonkin Hydrology information notes that the Jane Eliza Development does not show a significant difference in flood risk for the Renmark Township or broader community.

“We encourage community members to visit our online Jane Eliza project page to see the vision for the site.”
