Council is excited to deliver the James Avenue Footpath project, an important upgrade that will enhance walkability and support active lifestyles across the Renmark Paringa community.

The new footpath will connect the existing James Avenue and Ninth Street walking paths, creating a more continuous and accessible link within the Renmark riverfront trail network. This well-used trail is popular with local walkers, runners and visitors, including groups such as Renmark parkrun and the Happy Wanderers.

The project also includes the installation of a pedestrian crossing over the service road, improving safety and accessibility around the RIT pump station area.

Identified through community feedback during last year’s Annual Business Plan consultation process, this project reflects Council’s commitment to delivering infrastructure that supports healthy, active living.

The completed upgrade set to provide safer, more connected pathways for everyone to enjoy the riverfront.

A pedestrian detour will be in place during construction, and reduced speed limits will apply to traffic in the area to ensure everyone’s safety.

Works are scheduled for completion in mid-May.
