The Greening Renmark Paringa plan outlines a method for selecting the appropriate tree for the aesthetics of our beautiful towns and to ensure it is responsive to a changing climate. It is the first step in developing a system that connects design ideas with real-world action. The document covers the best characteristics for street and open space trees, ideas for tree placement along streets, important factors to consider when choosing trees, and best practices for planting them.

The plan outlines a multi-year plan for planting trees and increased greening canopy across Renmark, Paringa and Lyrup. Any trees that are planted as part of capital works projects are considered additional to this multi-year plan such as the scheduled plantings on the Renmark riverfront (planned for early 2025).

The consultation will run from Friday 31 January 2025 and close 5pm on Monday 24 February.

Submissions received during this period will be included as part of the final endorsement presented to elected members following the consultation period.
