The Community Support Funding Stream is a multi-year grant program designed to support local not-for-profit organisations in delivering impactful community service projects, social welfare initiatives, and other programs that enhance the well-being of the Renmark Paringa community.

About the Program

Introduced in 2023, this funding stream aligns with the commencement of a new Council term (every four years). Successful applicants receive funding agreements for up to four years without needing to reapply annually. Instead, a simplified acquittal form must be submitted by 31 May each year to report on the project's progress and impact.

The 2025/2026 financial year marks year three of this cycle, and applications are still open. New successful applicants will be funded for the remaining two years of the current Council term.

Funding Available

Eligible organisations can receive donations of up to $5,000 cash (per financial year for the duration of the Council term) for local groups to access resources.

Program Objectives

The Community Support Funding Stream aims to:

• Promote strong community networks and mutual support; and contribute to the development and strengthening of local communities;
• Respond to emerging and specific needs of disadvantaged groups;
• Actively promote access and inclusion for people living with a disability;
• Promote community capacity and leadership;
• Provide support to community groups who experience restricted access to resources;
• Encourage community led development of services, facilities and events, which meet and enhance community needs and strategic objectives of Renmark Paringa Council;
• Promote active participation of local residents in community initiatives;
• Provide opportunities to develop skills and expand on knowledge;
• Facilitate positive social, economical and environmental outcomes for our community.

Application Process

• Applications are considered at the start of each Council term and remain open until funds are fully allocated.
• Applicants may apply for only one of Council’s funding programs per financial year (Community Grants, Community Support Funding, or Event Sponsorship).
• Applications must be submitted using the official form with supporting documentation.
• If funding remains available, additional application rounds may be considered.
• Funding is not guaranteed, and applicants may not receive the full amount requested.
