Renmark Paringa Council’s Australia Day Celebrations are held on the morning of 26 January at the Jarrett Memorial Gardens.

The event consists of a free Community BBQ style Breakfast followed by the official Australia Day Ceremony, with Australia Day Award presentations and Citizenship Ceremony.

Council is seeking Expression's of Interest from local community groups who would like to be part of the annual community celebrations to provide BBQ cooking services to support the event.

The successful community group will be required to provide -

  • BBQ's (Minimum of 3) - in excellent working order, clean, with full gas bottles and bubble tested
  • All cooking utensils
  • Personnel to cook the required items
  • Cleaning products

Council will provide -

  • All event management processes and site preparation
  • All food items
  • Appropriate refrigeration for food items
  • Food handling items ie gloves, hand washing etc
  • Event furniture ie trestles
  • Food warmers / servers
  • Utensils for serving

The successful applicant will be required to –

  • Have or be prepared to apply for a Food Business Number and Food Safety Supervisor details (if applicable)
  • Become a Pre-Qualified Contractor of Council (complete a Registration Form and supply a Certificate of Currency for Public Liability Insurance, Task Risk Assessment, complete compulsory online inductions and provide any other documentation as request)
  • Adhere to directions provided by Event Organisers including arrival and set up times as instructed
  • Participate in an event site induction
  • Manage cooking quantities
  • Maintain a safe and compliant cooking area
  • Support Event Organisers where possible with other tasks

Timeframes

The successful organisation will be required to be onsite at approx. 6.30am to allow time to participate in the site induction, set up and commence cooking for the Community Breakfast commencing at 8am

Renumeration

An amount of $750 inc GST will be paid to the successful organisation for the provision of services as agreed. A tax invoice will be required to enable payment to the successful group.
